Fixed Term; ( A minimum of 71 hours will be offered between September 2022 and March 2023.)

Applications are invited for a Guaranteed Hours (GH) contract as a tutor in Jewellery and Silversmithing for the following courses:

• New Medallist: Bronze Art Medals (DESI08111) – Semester 1
• Design Externality 3 Major (DESI09075) – Semester 1
• Jewellery and Silversmithing 2B: Designing and Making Silver (DESI08146) – Semester 2

The Opportunity:

Jewellery and Silversmithing are looking for individuals experienced in practical teaching of a variety of silversmithing techniques to fill a tutoring position on a courses during the first and second semesters of academic year 2022-23. To deliver taught learning and teaching activities, within an established programme and with specified learning outcomes, as part of the integrated overall course structure within Edinburgh College of Art.

Your skills and attributes for success:

• A specialist knowledge from relevant practice and/or an understanding of debates, trends and issues within the field of design, specifically Jewellery and Silversmithing.
• An enthusiastic, positive and creative approach to teaching
• Experience of using Rhino 3D CAD modelling package at a high level
• Experience of teaching students to use 3D package Rhino at a beginners level
