We are seeking a graduate researcher to join an exciting ongoing project at the interface between psychology, education and intervention. We have developed a preschool-based intervention geared to improving preschoolers’ executive and numeracy skills. A particular objective of this project is to improve the foundations of early numeracy, by working in collaboration with early years education practitioners, by leveraging informal educational opportunities in the early environment. Importantly, we built on a partnership between cognitive scientists, educational experts and practitioners to maximise future applied potential.
The post is part-time 0.5 FTE (18.75 hours per week), fixed term until 31 March 2023.
The position will involve analysis of the intervention data obtained from young children, their parents and preschool providers in Oxfordshire. A keen interest in developmental psychology, early education and related data is essential. As well as experience of data analysis and the use of basic statistical packages, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage your own research and administrative activities, as well as working as part of a team. The post-holder will be involved in all remaining aspects of the research project, with a strong focus on analysis, writing and knowledge exchange activities. As this post may involve travel to local preschools, this would be facilitated by having access to own reliable transport, although this is not essential.
Closing date for applications is midday on 19th September 2022. It is anticipated that interviews will be held on 30th September 2022. The post-holder will be able to start in post on 1st November 2022 or as soon as possible after the interview date.
