We are looking for someone with good communication skills who gets enjoyment from helping others. Although you may be based primarily at one site you will be asked to work across all library sites in response to changing service needs at different times of the year undertaking a range of service support duties and deputising for senior staff as necessary.
You will work in collaboration with other LIAT staff and colleagues from other teams, therefore, we are looking for applicants who can work flexibly across teams and who enjoy a varied working environment. You will need to be able to work quickly and accurately, both unsupervised and within a team, to meet service delivery standards.
You will also need to have the physical capability to work in a very active role, including: the ability to retrieve or shelve library material, quickly and accurately; and being physically able to help students to access the material they need, often involving a great deal of walking about the library buildings.
You will need a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade C (level 4 to 5) and above including Maths and English, or equivalent experience together with experience of working as the first point of contact with a variety of customers in a busy face to face and/or Virtual environment. Responding efficiently and effectively to a large range of enquiries by utilising good interpersonal skills.
We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University.
We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
