• Based in Information Strategy and Technology Services at the Mawson Lakes Campus
• Two full-time, continuing positions, one in Learning and Teaching Systems and the other in Student Information Systems
• Commencement Salary: $84,539 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

You will contribute to the design, development, implementation and support of the University’s teaching, learning, student, research and corporate systems, applications and services. You will contribute to improving the performance of IT functions including system development lifecycle which involves project planning, feasibility studies, systems analysis, requirements definition, systems design and development, integration and testing, acceptance, implementation and maintenance.

Core Responsibilities

• Work on all stages of the software development lifecycle including gathering and defining user requirements, prototyping solutions, formulating designs, developing and reviewing code, creating user acceptance plans and all stages of testing as well as implementing and supporting systems
• Perform complex system maintenance functions, including the application of security policies, software and infrastructure upgrades, and problem investigation and resolution
• Actively participate in the development of standards and promote their implementation across the unit
• Document designated technologies, installations or applications including maintenance, support procedures and work instructions

Essential Skills and Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification (normally a degree) or equivalent professional information technology experience in a large organisation comparable with the University
• Significant experience using programming languages, application development tools and databases
• Significant experience in the design, development and support of software applications and services
• High level experience in the implementation of system development methodologies, standards, documentation and quality procedures.
• Significant knowledge and understanding of security issues at application, database, networking and operating system levels
