Hull York Medical School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Medical Education to join the multidisciplinary Health Professions Education Unit (HPEU). The post-holder will lead the development of postgraduate training and continuing staff development in health professions education whilst also creating, curating and delivering teaching for the Masters in Health Professions Education and the School’s tutor and faculty development. Furthermore, the post holder will be the primary point of contact for external tutor engagement and will supervise provision across all Hull York Medical School sites, including with NHS partners. The Unit is based in the Hull York Medical School at the University of York but the role will cover all of the School sites.
This is an exciting time to join Hull York Medical School. The School was awarded a 70% increase in medical student places with full expansion completing in the 23/24 academic year. We have also seen a 100% increase in students enrolling on our Health Professions Education programmes. This represents an opportunity to expand our engagement with local clinical placement providers and clinical tutors, upskilling the health profession education workforce to provide state of the art medical education and a compassionate and highly competent medical workforce.
