Job Responsibilities:
Oversees or conducts training in assigned technical area(s).
Works cooperatively with the Laboratory Operations Manager and Technical Supervisor.
Maintains laboratory quality assurance and quality control programs for assigned technical area(s).
Assists in the development of new laboratory procedures.
Maintains adequate inventory for assigned area(s). Communicates inventory needs to Lab Operations Manager.
Recommends ways to promote continuing quality improvement, customer service and employee satisfaction.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor of Science degree required with Bachelor of Science in clinical laboratory science or nursing preferred, or equivalent qualifications under CLIA personnel guidelines.
Certification by an accredited medical laboratory science or medical technology accrediting agency required.
A minimum of seven (5) years’ experience in a clinical or medical office laboratory.
Basic knowledge of data entry and patient demographics
Ability to maintain detailed records of daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance of logs.
Ability to perform, document, and maintain quality control records consistent with all regulatory requirements.
Ability to approach problems/decisions analytically.
Excellent verbal communication skills, ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, staff, and physicians.
