Job SummaryThe Application Equipment Sales Specialist will sell agronomic application equipment to co-ops, commercial, and national accounts. Successfully build and maintain relationships with current and target accounts. Demonstrate expertise in cold calls, equipment demonstration, quoting, and inventory management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities-Represents the company for the sale of agronomic application equipment (i.e. tractors, dry fertilizer equipment, anhydrous toolbars, sprayers)-Call on assigned and prospective customers, follow up on equipment sold, ensuring satisfaction-Maintains current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods-Knows and follows a defined sales process. Completing all paperwork required during the sales process from making quotes, purchase orders, sales contracts, appraisals and any other paperwork that may be required by management-Provide technical knowledge and support to ag sales team members as a product expert for all application equipment-Conducts new equipment field demonstrations and maintains new and used equipment lots-Coordinates pre-delivery inspections and cleaning with service departments-Attends applicable sales training events including meetings, schools, and seminars-Maintains current working product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment potentially for sale by the dealership in order to help instruct customers when necessary-Monitor competitive activity, trends and products, communicating with management to remain up to date on all competition as well as current customers -Assist with equipment delivery and movement of equipment amongst Van Wall locations on an as needed basis-Ensures the professional image and philosophy of Van Wall Equipment as our Customer’s Clear First Choice-Other job duties as assigned
Position Qualifications-Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, or other related field required.-3+ years’ experience in an agronomic focused position-Previous operation experience with sprayers, dry fertilizer equipment, anhydrous toolbars, and tractors required-Past demonstrated success in ag equipment or agronomic sales experience is highly preferred-Collaborate and partner with a variety of internal and external stakeholders-Comfortable presenting information to groups, representing the company at trade/industry conferences-High attention to detail with the ability to balance multiple projects and deals at once-Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) tools preferred-Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured under company’s fleet insurance policy-Must be flexible to work extended hours particularly during peak industry seasons-Excellent customer relationship skills-Willing to work out in the field in a variety of weather and ground conditions-Able to climb in and out of large agricultural equipment -Must exemplify the company’s values with employees and customers alike
