About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to drive and identify new and innovative marketplace demands in the newly transformed Vector Fibre. In this role, you will build pipelines and open new doors, ensuring customers receive exceptional fibre products and solutions. You will develop strong and strategic relationships with customers, and you will engage in a strategic consultative manner to ensure that Vector Fibre is well positioned for growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop a strategy for expanding our addressable market, to grow overall account revenue and identify commercial opportunities.
• Use your industry experience to identify and open doors with key prospects (from C-Suite to middle management). 
• Track and manage a lead pipeline of services and solutions for customer opportunities, tracking to a clear revenue target.
• Work with the Commercial Consulting team to deliver quotes and proposals to clients with indicative deliverable scoping, sizing and pricing.
• Work with the Head of Sales and Service, the Network Technology and Product Leads, Commercial Manager & GM to ensure good commercial outcomes for Vector Fibre.
• Ensure a sound understanding of, demonstrate commitment to and comply with all legislation and the Vector’s policy relevant to the position and all activities undertaken in the role.

Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in growing new revenues with the ability to identify, prospect and convert high value deals ($1M+). You will bring strong business acumen and NZ business market experience in proposing solutions, addressing client business issues and objectives.

As a Business Development Manager, your communication, presentation, and relationship building skills will be exceptional with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels and all stakeholders.  You’ll also ideally bring the following to be successful –

• Demonstrated technical expertise, academic training or knowledge of Broadband network technology in order to provide a comprehensive, differentiated, and valuable level of consulting advice to the client. 
• Strong knowledge of national and local governments
• An understanding of legal/commercial contracts
• Strong finance/project evaluation and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of the NZ IT&T industry (including Data Centres and Cloud Service Providers)
