Ventia Looking for Grader operator (Foreman) at Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand Full Time

Ventia are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Grader Operator/Foreman to join our Transport Infrastructure team in Northland

About The Role

This role will be joining our busy and hardworking team based in Whangarei. They will be responsible for a programme of works within the Roading industry. Some projects include but not limited to Roading rehabs, seal extensions, drainage, large civil drainage projects, sewer and water, building share paths, bridges, walkways, and subdivisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate graders to perform precised and accurate grading work according to project specificiations
• Manage and coordinate a crew of workers including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of grading equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition at all times.
• Conduct inspections of work sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
• Liase with supervisors, clients, and subcontractors to provide updates on project status and resolve any issues that may arise
• Provide training and guidance to crew members on safe and efficient operating practices
• Monitor and enforce all safety protocols including the proper use of PPE
• Assist with planning and scheduling of projects including determining resource requirements and allocating ewuipment and personnel accordingly

About You

The ideal candidate will need to have extensive knowledge and expertise operating graders and will be responsible for overseeing grading operations and managing a crew of workers.

This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage and coordinate work schedules and resources.

The Grader Operator/Foreman will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of roading projects.

Other Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience operating graders in the roading industry
• Proven foreman/leadership experience is preferred
• Valid full class 1 licence with WTR endorsements, class 2 is preferred
• Strong knowledge of grading techniques and ability to operate machines effectively and efficiently
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and oversee a crew of workers
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders
