Ventura Orthopedics Medical Group Hiring for Medical Appointment Scheduler at Simi Valley, CA Full Time

Our busy orthopedic clinic is recruiting for an experienced Appointment Scheduler with good communication skills, good organizational skills, and a strong sense of customer/patient service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments
• Cancel and reschedule appoints as necessary
• Prepare patient packets for mailing
• Mail paperwork for new patients or for patients with new problems
• Consult patients regarding participating status of various insurance contracts
• Answer phones; back-up phone operator
• Take messages for physicians and medical assistants
• Schedule appointments for all locations
• Assist in submitting prior authorizations for follow ups
• Checks HMO encounters for authorizations
• Schedules/confirms interpreters
• Decorates and changes employee bulletin board on a monthly basis
• Team activities and event planning
• Insurance verification (E & B)
• Sorts and distributes mail daily
• Help front office staff with overflow work
• Cover front office staff (sick/vacation)
• Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and twelve to eighteen months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
