The role purpose is to support the Group Health and Safety Manager with all regulatory and company requirements relating to the organisations activities

Key Accountabilities
Support the Group Health and Safety Manager with the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Health & Safety Management Systems;
Providing advice, information and guidance on health and safety matters to internal stakeholders, and provide consultation including the Safety Committees and Safety Representatives;
Act as an ambassador and promote the development of a positive H&S culture within the organisation;
Co-ordinate and support / deliver H&S training, (company requirements, procedures new legal requirements etc.), inductions, staff training, sub contractor training (where appropriate), ISO procedures, etc.
Compile accident and investigation reports and data, supporting accident prevention and safety initiatives and supporting H&S obligations on the various Vhi workplaces and operational areas;
Conduct regular inspections and site audits, reporting findings to site and senior management – ensuring appropriate follow up and actions completed in a timely manner;
Facilitating implementation of Emergency Plans and evacuation procedures and drill;
Responsible for the on-going review of and completion of risk assessments and monitoring risk management systems nationally;
Audit, control & manage the contractor H&S documentations and inspect contractors on site periodically, etc.
Generating, collating and producing health and safety data, reports and metrics;
Maintain and administer Health and Safety software systems around document control, auditing, incident reporting etc;
To Support the P&S Operational team in additional tasks and projects that maybe required from time to time.
Skills Knowledge and Experience
Proven ability to work on own initiative, with problem solving skills and be innovative;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience in delivering training;
Excellent organisational skills – ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Third level qualification in Health & Safety or similar is required
Membership of IOSH at Corporate level (or working towards) or equivalent.
Full drivers licence required.
At least 3 years’ experience within an H&S role
