Job Description

We’re a team of tax advisors who work alongside our clients and build long lasting relations that create value. As a Graduate/Associate you will specialise in providing global companies with tax advice and assistance with managing their cross border and remote working employees. Here you will:

Your day to day responsibilities will be varied, and may include:

• Advising global organisations on their employer tax obligations in respect of cross border employees
• Proactively managing client engagements under the guidance and support of experienced senior staff members within our specialist team
• Undertake tax consultations with employees to discuss the NZ tax implications of their assignment or remote working arrangement
• Completion of individual tax returns, provisional tax calculations, shadow payrolls and FBT returns
• Providing advice on employer share plan reporting obligations
• Research and application of tax legislation
• Liaising with Inland Revenue as required
• Working with leading digital tools to drive new efficiencies in our processes
• Working with overseas offices within the Vialto Partners network to deliver services in respect to New Zealand tax obligations

Qualifications

We’re looking for an agile, responsive individual who seeks technical and operational excellence.

The following attributes are important to the team:

• A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance (or similar)
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for providing exceptional client service
• Excellent job and time management skills and the ability to manage workloads and work to deadlines
• Strong Excel skills and tax return software experience
• Experience or an interest in Global Mobility, Individual and Employer Tax obligations
