Senior Community Care of Colorado-MontroseSchedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PMPay: $17.00-$19.75/HRPRIMARY RELATIONSHIPS: Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant,Occupational Therapist, nursing personnel, participants, and families.OBJECTIVE: Under the supervision of the Rehab Manager, performs routinetasks related to the operation of the Therapy Department. Assists withparticipant-related activities predetermined for each participant as delegatedby the Physical or Occupational Therapist.Job Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-dateimmunizations before having direct participant contact.Education: High school graduate or equivalent.Experience: Minimum of one year experience working with a frail or elderlypopulation required. Long-term care experience as a Nursing Assistant ispreferred.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must beable to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to observe all necessary precautions in the operation ofequipment.Body coordination needed to assist in positioning resident comfortably inwheel chair and in, at, or on equipment.Ability to perform a variety of tasks to assist participants and other therapystaff.Capable of following standard procedures and detailed instructions whenassisting with residents and setting-up equipment.Able to work with residents and show tact and consideration to secure theircooperation.Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such astimekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.Ability to perform clerical functions and remain organized with a variety ofwork tasks/duties.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Performs a variety of functions to maintain the therapy gym and treatmentareas on a daily, weekly, and as-needed basis.Prepares and cleans up therapy treatment areas between therapy sessions.Leads or assists with daily exercise groups and/or performs other directparticipant care as delegated by the Physical Therapist or OccupationalTherapist.Documents in the electronic medical records following organizational policy.Orders, stocks, and delivers therapy items as directed by the PhysicalTherapist or Occupational Therapist.Assists with inventory management of durable medical equipment (DME) andtherapy items.Assists with managing the Therapy Department schedule including contactingparticipants and working with the Physical Therapist and Occupationaltherapist to establish schedule.Is expected to consistently practice in alignment with programcultural/behavioral standards (Fundamentals).Acts within the scope of his or her authority to practiceFollows all Senior Community Care policies and procedures and OccupationalSafety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety guidelines.Handles potentially infectious specimens with appropriate biohazardprecautions, and practices Universal Precautions.Maintains safe working environment.
