The Waimakariri District Council are looking for a new Ecologist with the ability to work effectively across a wide range of issues and enable a customer-focused environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and skilled person with experience in conservation and ecological restoration, community engagement and impact assessment to join a progressive and customer-focused Council. We currently have some exciting projects underway within the implementation of the Natural Environment Strategy as well as our ongoing program of works across Greenspace and the wider Community and Recreation Group.
The successful applicant will be a motivated individual to work with internal and external stakeholders. In this technical role you will offer high quality expertise across projects and programs of work for our environmental and natural parks network. As well as input into the growth strategy for the District, lead by example through the delivery of a customer-focused service, and manage key stakeholder relationships.
To be successful in this position you will need to have a solutions focused attitude with the ability to work with various stakeholders with differing interests. An understanding of biodiversity, engagement processes, strategy implementation and planning procedures would also be an advantage. Applicants will be highly motivated team players who are well organised and committed to providing excellent service and quality results. In recognition of this, a very competitive salary is offered.
