Health Care Assistant
Waipuna Hospice has a high profile in the Bay Plenty for providing specialist community palliative care. Our geographical reach covers Waihi Beach to Paengaroa and while our focus is on hospice-at-home, we also have an established inpatient unit and we support a large community team. These services are funded through DHB contracts, fundraising and income from our charity retail shops.

About The Job
An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Health Care Assistant to join our team at Waipuna Hospice for 58.5 hours per fortnight. This role is based in the Inpatient Unit and will cover 9, 6.5 hour shifts per fortnight. There is also an opportunity for Health Care Assistants looking for casual shifts.
As a Health Care Assistant, you will work in our Inpatient Unit assisting patients with personal cares and doing general duties.
Ideal applicants will be empathetic, caring and comfortable caring for people who have a terminal illness. Previous personal cares experience is essential, and preference will be given to applicants with relevant qualifications and palliative care experience.
Applicants will also need to have a current driver’s licence, vehicle and mobile phone and the legal right to work in New Zealand.
