Wairakei Resort Looking for Operation Duty Manager (HSKP, FO, F&B) at Taupo Central, Waikato Full Time

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Front Office Operations

• In absence of Executive Management to assume full responsibility for the hotel.  To have a current General Manager’s Licence. To fulfil all other duties as delegated by Front Office Manager and/or Hotel Manager.
• Handling guest complaints with courtesy and professionalism also ensuring management is up to date with all issues, communications, and outcomes.
• To be available when on duty for guest consultation, ensuring all guest complaints are acted on professionally and promptly. Any special requests must be fulfilled as soon as possible.  Duty Manager’s Report to be filled out daily.
• Assist with monitoring wage costs in conjunction with the Front Office Manager
• To attend weekly Departmental meetings
• Ensure staff adhere to Standards of Procedure for cash handling. Responsible for financial transactions i.e., shift cash-up and till handling
• Analise and reply to guest reviews
• Conduct inspections of front of house and back of house during shift, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Lobby, Food & Beverage Outlets, Public Areas, Car Parking and Grounds.

Food & Beverage service Operations 

• Ensure the responsible service of alcohol guidelines and practices are always followed during service to guests.
• Ensure that food handling guidelines are always followed and adhered to during service to guests.
• Assist with service, set-up, and breakdown prior to meal periods 
• Maintain cleanliness standards in outlets including knowledge of food handling and hygiene 
• Ensure the outlet is set with a sense of urgency and attention to detail in accordance with specific service period and daily hotel requirements.
• Ensure the quality and presentation of all Food and Beverage items are of a high standard prior to serving guests.

Housekeeping Operations

• Have a clear understanding of room configurations and products provided.
• Allocate staffing and prepare task assignments in the absence of Housekeeping
• Investigates guest complaints regarding housekeeping services and equipment and takes corrective action in the absence of Room Experience Manager.
• Monitor rooms, hallways, hotel lobby and other public area guest facilities to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment and makes recommendations to Room Experience Manger.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required:

• To hold a General Manager’s Certificate
• Complete knowledge of all room types, hotel rates, packages and facilities.
• To help in all areas of the hotel as directed, and as necessary relieve and assist when observing a department under pressure. 
• You may be required to work within the operational areas of the business being Front Office, Food & Beverage and Housekeeping as per the roster. To help in all areas of the hotel as directed, and as necessary relieve and assist when observing a department under pressure – Housekeeping and Food and Beverage operational experience, including Opera, HotSOS and POS systems essential.
• Experience utilising hotel systems. Food and Beverage- Front Office and Housekeeping operational experience, including Opera, HotSOS and POS systems essential
• Any additional duties or responsibilities, as directed by Front Office Manager, Outlet Manager or Housekeeping Managers are to be undertaken on request.
