Job Summary

The Merchandising Assistant, Owned Brands is a coordinator level administrative role within the Owned Brand Commercialization and Branding team that supports the daily workflow functions and overall merchandise flow within a designated category group. The Merchandising Assistant will correspond with internal and external departments via email and phone to ensure information needed is complete and accurate.

This role provides coordination support for the planning, strategy and systemization of the commercialization of Owned Brand items. Communicates with merchandising personnel, other Company departments, and vendors to resolve issues and discrepancies regarding reports, shipping, scheduling, and any other problems or questions that arise.

Job Responsibilities

• Provides department support on various projects and related tasks, to include, creating PowerPoint presentations, formatting and creating Excel files, scheduling meetings, tracking ad type/items over multiple ad dates, conducting comparison shops, tracking inventory, reviewing printed and set planograms for accuracy.
• Responds to questions from new and existing vendors, stores, and other department personnel regarding error corrections, category items and inventory, meetings, label requests, ad requests, resets/revisions and other related questions.
• Initiates, monitors & maintains floor sample/photo studio store transfers to ensure proper and timely flow of merchandise to each store and ensure transfers initiated by merchandising are fulfilled.
• Performs general administrative tasks, to include, but not limited to: sending out items to be imaged, maintaining and answering questions regarding management schedules, printing and running reports, organizing and creating systems for office files, organizing supply drawers, document preparation (e.g. scanning, organizing, copying), sorting and routing mail, and greeting visitors.
• Manages all e-mail correspondence effectively and efficiently, escalating concerns where necessary to the Commercialization and Brand Managers.
• Develops and maintains relationships with art agencies.
• Onboards new team members and training new Merchandising Assistants when necessary.
• Runs reports as requested by the brand and commercialization group.
• Works closely with International colleagues including meeting requests and travel itinerary.
• Follows department procedure for notifying the Product Integrity team of item kickoff for audit purposes.
• Coordinates scheduling, travel, expenses for members of the team.
• Maintains processes on items, deals, reset/revision, spreadsheets, vendor information, sample requests, artwork, ad planning, and new items.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and at least 1 year experience in an administrative support role.
• Experience utilizing principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, such as customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
• Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.

• Knowledge and experience in private brands, CPG, or retail
