Wallace Brothers Hiring for Payroll Clerk at Sutter, CA Full Time

Wallace Brothers is seeking resumes for a bilingual General Accountant/Payroll Clerk to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and clerical duties relating to the recording, processing, and issuing of weekly payroll, and serve as a resource for employees with payroll concerns. Wallace Brothers is a farming business operating in Sutter and Colusa Counties, growing processing tomatoes, dry edible beans, and sunflower seeds.

Responsibilities

– Review time and attendance reports for accuracy and record worked hours, overtime, leave, deductions, raises, and other pertinent payroll information

– Prepare weekly payroll checks and associated reports for all employees

– Manage and pay all payroll taxes and complete all appropriate weekly, monthly and quarterly reports

– Post and reconcile payroll records to the General Ledger

– Process W-2’s and all other year-end reports

– Assist with other accounting tasks, such as accounts payable and accounts receivable

Skills

• Bi-lingual English and Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
• Demonstrated experience in payroll administration and general ledger
• Familiarity with general accounting principles
• Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality
• Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and regulations
• Computer savvy with working knowledge of relevant software (e.g. Excel)
• Math and numerical skills
• Organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving
• Knowledge of production agriculture, agricultural employment, and related regulation is beneficial but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; BSc/BA in accounting/business administration is a plus

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
