About Us
Warwickshire is an attractive place to live, work and visit. It is a thriving county with real strengths: a strong and growing economy, vibrant towns and villages, good standards of education and skills, and a track record of innovative public services. Warwickshire is an internationally renowned county that is home to some of the UK’s most established businesses, as well as thousands of thriving small enterprises. Warwickshire enjoys superb links to the rest of the country through its proximity to the national motorway network and growing local rail network.
Education is at the heart of Warwickshire, we have a strong and vibrant education community, dedicated to achieving the best for children, young people, and adults.
We have decided to strengthen our approach and capacity to lead and manage education services and work with schools and early years settings as well as with partner agencies such as the NHS. We have a new Assistant Director for Education Services, and this is a new role as part of the management team reporting directly to the AD.
About the Role
This is an exciting time to join Warwickshire County Council and work in Education Services. We have strong relationships with schools and settings, and we are looking to develop these further, being clear about the role of the Council. We have begun to set out our Education Strategy for 2024-2030 and this role will have a critical role in developing and finalising the strategy and specific plans to achieve our aspirations for all children, young people and adults in a strong and high performing education sector.
The role, Education Quality and Strategic Lead, will directly manage our approach to school and early years improvement and quality, the Virtual School and Governor Services. It will also develop area-wide approaches that enable education to thrive and children, young people, and adults to make the most of the opportunities available. You’ll work closely with colleagues within Education Services, the wider Council as well as with leaders of schools and early years settings, DfE and Ofsted. Importantly you will be able to establish a credible relationship with sector leaders that provides reflection, support and challenge in the best interests of children, young people and adults in Warwickshire.
