Role Summary*
The Strategy & Innovation team are responsible for developing, communicating, executing, and sustaining strategic corporate initiatives for delivery of the business plan. The VP, Strategy ( automotive) will inform strategic decision-making and acts as a catalyst and driver for strategic change across the automotive side of our business. You will constructively challenge the business with critical thinking and innovative insight to improve the way we do business, continually evaluating, presenting, managing, and executing strategic initiatives, that extend and defend the core business in the short term (horizon one), building emerging business in the medium term (horizon two), and creating viable options for the long term (horizon three).
A prerequisite for everyone working in Wejo is a high level of personal resilience and the ability to manage changing priorities and complexity well.
Key Responsibilities – what I do mostly

• You must define and oversee a list of dependent projects across Automotive needed to reach the business goals
• You will identify high impact strategic opportunities, building up a roadmap to pursue them and drive ideation, discovery and validation of those opportunities working closely with the EVP, Automotive & Mobility & team
• Working collaboratively with leaders and their teams from across the organisation globally to ensure robust, evidence-based decision making informs the development and implementation of strategic plans which deliver maximum impact.
• Develop exec level recommendations and proposals and influence senior stakeholders both internally & externally
• Articulates the company’s mission in a clear and concise way that can speak to partners, customers and employees at all levels.
• Strong bias for execution of the business plan. Focusing for today, not just planning for tomorrow
• Ensure any applicable metrics and performance pointers are in place in order to measure all progress
• Responsible for ensuring that all employees for every business unit and function, understand the details of the Automotive strategic plan and how their work connects to corporate goals.
• Pre-emptively take the lead on strategic questions that business-unit heads need to collaborate on, making significant and lasting contribution to the companies performance
• Identify and convey strategic risk

Essential Skills / Knowledge & Experience – what I need to do the job*

• A track record in managing projects and programmes to tight deadlines with high levels of cross-organisational collaboration and matrix management
• Background and experience in working within automotive, mobility and connected car strategy
• Must be able to work with and influence people across entire organizations and beyond; that’s the heart of the job
• Must be self-directed and able to work independently, always pushing the boundaries of what is possible
• Must be a good listener as well as a good translator
• Comfortable working with advanced technology, including data science
• Must demonstrate excellent company knowledge of wejo’s vision, mission, partnerships, marketplaces and opportunity
• Must be comfortable working at 50,000 feet, 500 feet, 50 feet, and on down. Must be able “to tell” the wejo story in a way people can understand and buy in to
