About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Quantitative Solutions Engineering Specialist within the Risk Modeling Group.
The Risk Modeling Group (RMG) is a unit within Corporate Credit Risk responsible for model development and implementation of the following model types:
Credit loss estimation models to support Business Loss Forecasting (BLF), Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL); estimation of risk weighted assets (RWA) in compliance with Basel regulations; and economically sensitive credit loss estimation in compliance with Dodd Frank and the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review exercises (DFAST/CCAR).
Models to support Pre-Provision Net Revenue (PPNR) estimates including balance, new originations, spread, DNIE/DNII, as well as DFAST/CCAR).
Models to support decision science (scorecard, collection, etc.) and operational risks/compliance (Financial crimes, Fraud, and ALM).
The team is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analytic Specialist to lead data modeling transformation, agile deployment, and near-real time BI of Credit and PPNR models on Python based open-source platform (PyFARM) in support of Corporate and Regulatory (CCAR/DFAST/RRP) Stress Tests, CECL, and BLF processes.
This position resides within RMG Model Implementation and Production team and will corporate closely with business partners, model development, enterprise data warehouse/lake and technology teams to advance data engineering and visualization, automate model implementation/execution processes and controls on PyFARM, focusing on Wells Fargo Auto portfolios .
This position joins a high functioning, high productive team and requires strong Python/Spark programming and data engineer skills, ability to translate complex Credit loss and PPNR forecasting models into efficient model execution and effective process controls, possess organizational and prioritization skills, as well as strong attention to detail. This role is highly dynamic and will require critical thinking and a tactical approach to problem solving.
In this role, you will:
Implement and calibrate various advanced models, including ML/AI
Perform highly complex activities related to financial products, business analysis and modeling
Drive analytical insights regarding a wide array of business initiatives
Provide solutions to business needs and analyze workflow processes to improve risk management
Collaborate with peers, colleagues, managers and regulators to resolve issues and achieve goals
Lead complex CCAR, CECL, BLF and/or PPNR model deployment environments working with large data sets, advanced statistical models, and Python/other coding to execute models effectively and efficiently for purposes including Stress Tests/CCAR/FCM, CECL, BLF and model performance monitoring
Establish automated controls and creating consistent and robust execution processes across models
Understand the trends within loan portfolios, their impact on model performance, and quantifying the risks not captured by models via adjustments
Maintain documentation for key implementation processes across the team with focus on standardization of implementation and execution controls
Apply knowledge of business, customers, and/or products/services/portfolios to synthesize data to ‘form a story’ and align information to contrast/compare to industry perspective

Strong analytical skills with Python programming expertise in model development, execution or performance reporting on cluster or cloud in conjunction with Spark utility APIs for automation.
Experience working with large datasets and performing complex data analytics and mining on HDFS via Python with attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience working with data visualization applications such as Tableau for dashboard reporting
Demonstrated strong analytical/quantitative problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work well in team environment, independently and across organizational boundaries
Knowledge and understanding of data mapping, mining, or modeling
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to deliver results with speed and agility
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
