Westlake Pipe and Fittings Hiring For Warehouse/Yardperson at Calgary, AB Full Time

SUMMARY

We are seeking enthusiastic Warehouse/Yardperson to join the Shipping Team. This position will be responsible to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas. This is a Temporary Position from May 23, 2022 to September 30, 2022 with the possibility of extension.

We are also seeking applicants who understand that employees make key contributions to developing a pro-safe work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Follow all safety rules.
• Load/unload trailers, vans, trucks (5%)
• Pick, pack and ship product as business dictates. Receive and replenish stock as required (80%)
• General warehouse duties (15%)
• Adhere to all operation policies and procedures
• Ability to process all relevant Shipping documentation and to fulfill customers orders according to timelines/deadlines provided.
• Gain a good understanding of various Pipe and Electrical Fittings SKU’s with regard to the yard/warehouse locations.

Ideal candidate will have the following;

• Valid Alberta Driver’s license (a must)
• Forklift ticket (asset, willing to train right candidate)
• Read, write, communicate fluently in English
• Some warehouse experience preferred
• Lift/carry 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day
• Available for overtime
• Basic knowledge of computers skills.
• Demonstrated a good working knowledge of safe and efficient truck-loading procedures is an asset.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, push, bend, twist or crouch.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate as this position is based in the warehouse and outdoors. The work is required in the operation of forklifts and other machinery including but not limited to cut-off saws, shrink-wrappers and others which require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs.
