Weyerhaeuser Hiring for Industrial Maintenance Technician at Natchitoches, Louisiana Full Time

One position for an hourly Industrial Maintenance Technician within the Maintenance Department is now open at the Natchitoches EWP Mill. Qualified candidates will need to have a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of mechanical equipment, processes and techniques to repair, modify, install, and maintain the facility and high-tech lumber manufacturing equipment.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

• Adjust and calibrate machinery and equipment;
• Clean and lubricate machinery or equipment;
• Detect minor problems by performing basic diagnostic tests;
• Disassemble equipment and machinery when there is a problem;
• Move equipment and machinery;
• Perform tests to make sure that machines are running smoothly;
• Read technical manuals to understand controls and equipment;
• Repair or replace malfunctioning or broken components;
• Test malfunctioning machinery to determine the need for major repairs;
• Complete PMs and PdMs;
• Learn and develop Maintenance fundamentals;

• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited agency/institution;

• Resume detailing education and work history required for consideration;
• Must have at least three (3) years industrial maintenance technician experience and/or an industrial maintenance degree;
• Able to work any shift, weekends, overtime, holidays as needed;
• Able to work in extreme temperatures, in dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety equipment;
• Must have demonstrated leadership and team skills;
• Ability to write legibly and communicate as necessary to accomplish tasks;
• Able to complete forklift training;
• Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position, which includes climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, and bending; and
• Ability to work at heights, in adverse weather conditions, and in challenging physical positions without issue.
