Windom Area Health (WAH) is an 18-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Windom, MN. The hospital serves Windom, Mt. Lake and the surrounding areas. Windom Area Health provides specialty outreach services on a regular basis including cardiology, behavioral health, foot care/wound care, podiatry, general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, pulmonology, urology and occupational/speech/physical therapies. Emergency room, laboratory and imaging services are also available 24 hours a day.

Windom Area Health is committed to offering obstetrics services, which many rural hospitals are no longer providing due to volume and cost associated.

A fitness center and group exercise classes are also available to the community members.

Our mission is “Dedicated to Health”, which directs our decision making and services on a daily basis. We have a management agreement with Sanford Health and are owned by the City of Windom.

Job Details:

Windom Area Health is seeking a self-directed and highly motivated individual for a full-time Medical Records Coder position. The position is responsible for managing and coding a variety of outpatient and inpatient records using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding systems, obtaining admission certification from third party payers for inpatient admissions, conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, and computing statistical reports.

Requirements:

Qualified candidates will be credentialed as an RHIT,CPC, or CCS, or achieve designation within 6 months. Candidates must have knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD-10-CM/PCS, various medical specialties and familiarity with working on claim denials.

Work schedule:

Weekday hours. Work from home options available, after training period.
