Role Summary

• To provide strategic leadership to the Trust’s Special and Alternative Provision Hub.
• To provide strategic leadership to the Trust’s wider provision for children with SEND (including supporting schools with resource bases).
• To provide high quality support and challenge to leaders across the Special and AP Hub, ensuring that education provision and outcomes are excellent and that school improvement plans are effectively delivered.
• To lead on the review and development of the Trust SEND strategy, alongside other stakeholders.
• To support, and where necessary, take the lead in liaison with external agencies to secure appropriate support and resourcing for children with SEND.
• To contribute to the work of the Trust Leadership Group and Education Leadership Group to provide high-quality education and care for all children who attend a Maiden Erlegh Trust school.

Since 2014, when Maiden Erlegh Trust was established, we have expanded to become six schools serving Berkshire and South Oxfordshire covering the breadth of educational provision from EYFS to Post-16 in mainstream, special and alternative provision. We also have two new free schools in the pre-opening phase: Oak Tree School opening in September 2023 (a special school providing 150 places) and River Academy opening in September 2024 (a secondary school in the heart of Reading providing 1,500 places).
