WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager with a Mechanical Engineering background for our Chicago, Illinois office.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead project mechanical engineer capable of directing the project team.
• Project management activities including writing proposals, establishing budgets, reporting revenue, reviewing billing, and managing client interactions.
• Coordinates activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design issues.
• Coordinates the activities of technical staff from project award through project completion.
• Lead project mechanical engineer capable of directing the project team, delegating work to discipline team members, and performing quality reviews.
• Lead multi-discipline projects including project definition, execution plan, and quality review process.
• Lead project mechanical engineer activities including scope review, resource assignment, work break down planning, and project execution
• Schedules and orchestrates project team meetings.
• Originates and presents discipline and project management growth and training curriculum to suit current and anticipated staff skill sets.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• At least 7+ years minimum experience in Mechanical Buildings System Engineering with Project Management experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
• Proficient in Trane Trace / load estimation software
• Awareness of Revit Modeling software platforms
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite software (word, excel, teams, etc.)
• Comfortable in managing team dynamics with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High degree of familiarity and knowledge in IMC/IBC, Chicago Building Code, IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, and ASHRAE 62

Preferred Qualifications

• LEED AP Certification
• Previous Healthcare or Laboratory design experience
• At least 2+ years minimum Project Management experience
