The Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is seeking an experienced professional to fill the key role of Clinical Informatics Specialist, must be a team player, with great work ethics and an aptitude for change and adoption of new technologies in health care.

Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is the leading health care provider on the western James Bay coast. WAHA comprises of hospitals in Moose Factory, Fort Albany, and Attawapiskat, with a Health Centre in Moosonee. WAHA also provides regional outpatient programs, as well as Paramedicine services in Moose Factory, Moosonee, Fort Albany, Kashechewan, Attawapiskat, and Constance Lake. The span of services, complexity of care needs in the region, and the depth of health integration has made WAHA a leader and a model of health care services in Northern Ontario.
WAHA consists of 450 employees, a Physician team, many students, as well as community stakeholders. It is affiliated with Queens University and offers many educational opportunities for current and prospective team members.
Position Profile Requirements:
· Previous experience in reviewing and implementing clinical documentation processes to reflect best practice standards in clinical decision making and electronic charting
· Experienced in clinical practice, facilitation, change management and project management
· Good computer skills and experience working with a variety of clinical applications/EHR hospital focused, MEDITECH Client Server 5.67 or MEDITECH Expanse 2.2 and TELUS Practice Solution (PSS), an asset
· Good understanding of technical, integration and clinical business requirements when implementing digital health solutions
· Experienced in providing consultative services and positive customer relationship with vendors, patients, clinicians, and project teams
· Demonstrates an understanding of key attributes of data quality and information exchange
· Demonstrates an understanding of privacy, security, and confidentiality concepts as it relates to PHI
· Effective organizational, research, data analytical skills, time management and priority setting skills in accomplishing assigned work deliverables in a dynamic climate of competing demands
· Strong conceptual skills, with demonstrated knowledge and skill in problem-solving, decision-making and critical-thinking
· Demonstrated ability to function both autonomously and collaboratively within a team
Key Responsibilities:
· Supports the clinical transformation project – ONE Project by managing clinical informatics initiatives, integrated projects, complex workflow redesign, testing, training, and go-live support
· Provide clinical insight into the build, revision, and evaluation of new/existing clinical documentation processes within the EHR based on best practices, patient safety, continuity of care, regulatory requirements, model of care and clinical workflows
· Continuous system optimization, system evaluation for new clinical applications, end-users support
· Solicit the engagement and feedback from interprofessional clinical teams, management, and education
· Provides ongoing system support to Meditech/PSS and other WAHA supported clinical applications
· Serves as a liaison between regional partners (HSN), Management, Clinical Programs and Informatics/IT to facilitate augmentation and adoption of clinical applications across interprofessional teams
· Collaborates with Interprofessional teams and IT to maintain and manage acquisition, storage, retrieval, and use of health data for safe patient care and business intelligence
Qualifications & Experience:
· Undergraduate degree in a related health care field, required
· Master’s degree in a related health care field (Health Informatics, Nursing, Health Admin.), an asset
· Registration in good standing with a recognized health profession college of Ontario
