Young Life Hiring for NextGen Leaders (NGL) Divisional Coordinator (East/West) at Colorado Springs, CO Full Time
Mission/Authority:
The NGL Divisional Coordinator will oversee all NGL Ministry within a Young Life division. They will assist in training and support, and encourage NGL Staff and Local regions within the division. The responsibilities of an NGL Divisional Coordinator include the ability to function at various levels and with diverse groups of people.
Essential Duties:
Spiritual Development
- Maintain personal spiritual health by having regular devotion, solitude, and prayer.
- Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines, in the context of active participation in a church community.
- Actively participate in the spiritual life and development of the NGL Community.
Leadership Development
- Assist the NGL Divisional Training Team with the training of NGL Student Sta? program once per semester on a Saturday Zoom training.
- Assist the National NGL Director in casting vision and leading the growth of NGL within the division..
- Foster community among NGL Student Staff, YL Staff, and the division.
- Actively involved within the division in the recruitment, interview, and onboarding processes of developing NGL regions and incoming NGL Student Staff.
Resource Development
- Assist National NGL Director in active engagement in Relationship-Centered Engagement practices.
- Work in partnership with the Senior Vice President in the strategic identification and solicitation of funding for NGL Ministry.
- Ensure that all Young Life financial policies and procedures are implemented.
Ministry Development:
- Local Area Support
- Work in partnership with the NGL Regional Supervisor to help their NGL Student Staff work effectively within the region.
- Serve as the NGL liaison between the regional and divisional office
- Divisional Support
- Work in partnership with the SVP to lead NGL in the division to encourage and foster a new NGL Ministry.
- Participate with the Divisional Leadership Team in matters pertaining to NGL.
- YL Camping
- Assist the National NGL Director in building strategy and the placement of NGL Student Staff in both weekend and summer camping leadership opportunities.
- Other
- Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures and maintain professionalism concerning office hours, dress, conduct, and time management.
- Available to work on special projects related to NGL as assigned by the Southwestern Divisional NGL Director.
Administration:
- Serve as the main point of contact for all matters pertaining to NGL in the division. Elevate as necessary.
- Communicate regularly with NGL Student Sta?, NGL Area Supervisors, Regional Director, and the National NGL Director for individual support, problem-solving, planning, encouragement, vision, common events, and goals.
- Actively involved in mid and end-of-year evaluations and reporting processes of NGL Ministry within the Division.
- Collect monthly Scorecard updates from NGL Student Staff.
- Lead scheduled CMI reporting process for each NGL-led ministry.
- Follow up on Summer Staff Application process with NGL students by end of Semester 1.
- Collect and review monthly homework assignments and follow up if needed.
- Send provided monthly training summary from operations director to supervisors. Be the point of contact for any follow-up questions if needed.
- Actively participate in the NGL Leadership Council.
- Ensure administrative requirements are handled with excellence and in a timely manner.
Training:
- Participate in Regional and Divisional NGL trainings, retreats, and conferences, by specifically:
- Leading monthly divisional book studies in semesters 2 and 3. Frequency and platform of training to be determined by divisions’ geography and needs of NGL Student Staff.
- Attend August Orientation per MOU.
- Attend January Retreat per MOU.
- Attend Graduation Celebration per MOU.
- Be available once per semester (in Semesters 2,3 and 4) to deliver content training as requested on a Saturday Virtual Training.
- Be available each month in Semester 1 to help lead Ethnic Specific book study session for year 1 NGL Students.
- (Optional) Attend monthly Saturday trainings Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec, Feb, Mar, Apr per MOU
- Attend NGL Council Planning Retreat in Dec and May
- On average, the time required for these responsibilities equals 6 hours monthly plus 10 days per year.
Qualifications Required for The Job:
- Commitment to a growing relationship with Christ.
- Ability to clearly communicate Young Life’s mission and the vision for NGL.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, adapt and be flexible.
- Proven relational and leadership skills with both adolescents and adults.
- Past or current involvement in Young Life ministry.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to travel as the job requires.
Position Note:
- We are hiring for seven positions: 4 East and 3 West NextGen Leaders Regional Coordinator.
- This position is open to remote work within the territory assigned.
- This position can be flexible to be either a full-time or a part-time position depending on the right candidate.
- The salary range for a full-time position is anywhere from $5,950-$8,131 per month/ $71,397-$97,570 per year
