The Department of Education is looking for a Health and Safety Management Coordinator to join our team. Our team is dedicated to providing excellent customer service to the public, employees, and external stakeholders.
The Health and Safety Management Coordinator works on the implementation, delivery and continuous improvement of the department’s occupational health and safety program. This position is responsible for helping clients to ensure compliance with relevant legislative and policy requirements.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, will be solution-orientated, and be a strong critical thinker. Essential Qualifications
Post-secondary education or coursework in occupational health and safety or in a related field
Participation or membership in an Occupational Joint Health and Safety Committee or other occupational health and wellness initiatives
Considerable experience in the provision of services or interpreting legislation/regulations;
Considerable experience consulting with individual and organizational clients and professional service personnel.
Experience creating and implementing a health and safety system would be an asset.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
