The Transportation Aviation Branch is responsible for the management, development and maintenance of the Yukon Government aviation system, which includes five certified airports and 23 registered aerodromes. Driven by a commitment to safety and security, efficient and effective programing and progressive leadership, the Aviation Branch is a dedicated and professional team.
Reporting to the Superintendent, Yukon Airports, and as a critical member of the Transportation Aviation Branch senior leadership team, this position collaborates with branch program areas to oversee and manage all aspects of operations at the Dawson City, Old Crow and Watson Lake community airports and 25 community aerodromes, leading short and long term planning for the airports. As the certificate holder for the three community airports, the Manager, Community Airports is a key point of contact with external stakeholders and is responsible for maintaining the airports’ certifications.

Essential Qualifications (what we’re looking for in your resume):
Experience managing day to day operations of an organization/program area in a heavily regulated industry, preference given to experience in aviation
Experience developing, implementing and continually evaluating programs and services
Experience collaborating with external stakeholder groups and building partnerships
Experience creating and establishing procedures, guidelines and communication chains within an organization with multiple program areas
Experience managing a complex operation in a dynamic and fast paced environment

Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence, Transport Canada Security Clearance (within 90 days), Airside Vehicle Operators Permit and a Restricted Radio Operators Licence (within 30 days)
