This opportunity…
The Corporate Services Division of Highways and Public Works provides critical central agency services to government and direct services to the department itself. We provide acquisition risk management, insurance, purchasing, asset management, printing, mail delivery, travel, and fleet vehicle services to Yukon government departments. We also provide policy, communications, and finance services to the Department of Highways and Public Works. Our division employs analysts, procurement specialists, purchasing officers, accountants and many other professionals
The Manager, Procurement is responsible for the development and oversight of strategic purchasing, procurement planning and the continual improvement of procurement initiatives, ensuring that contracting, procurement and asset management services meet the needs of Yukon government (YG), while maintaining the integrity of the public procurement process. This position ensures client departments are supported through the entire procurement life cycle and is responsible for overseeing/leading a team of purchasing officers who are responsible for purchasing on behalf of departments, including complex, high-value procurement(s) .

Essential Qualifications (what we’re looking for in your resume):
If your resume shows education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed below, your application may be equally considered.
Degree or diploma in business administration, public administration, or a related field
Considerable experience in managing activities associated with procurement functions including planning, developing, implementing and evaluating procurement services, policies, processes and systems
Experience in providing advice and recommendation to senior management and stakeholders on procurement issues
Experiencing managing delivery of client services, including communication with clients and stakeholders, and promotion of service standards.
Experience managing financial and human resources.
Professional designation or certification in a supply management organization such as PMAC, NIGP or ISM would be desirable
