Yukon Government Looking for Storesperson (Territorial) at Whitehorse, YT Full Time

This posting is for a full-time permanent position working 75 hours biweekly

The Wildland Fire Management(WFM) branch contributes to protection of people and property and the development of sustainable, fire resilient Yukon communities and infrastructure.

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor the Stores Person will carry out duties at the Territorial HQ Warehouse to provide receiving and shipping, inventorying and refurbishment of WFM equipment and supplies. They will also assist with support of Emergency Medical Services consumable items managed by the WFM warehouse in terms of purchasing, receiving and shipping identified by orders placed to WFM.

Experience tracking and maintaining inventory information and/or records

Experience performing shipping/receiving and inventory functions

Experience with Inventory Management and Information System (IMIS) or similar inventory tracking systems would be considered an asset.

A Class 3 Drivers Licence and a forklift operator certification would be considered an asset.

Candidates who have education and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Desired Knowledge Skills and Suitability

Candidates will be assessed on their:
Strong client service orientation

Strong ability to prioritize work and manage deadlines.

Proficiency in the use of computers and programs such as, MS Word, Excel, Outlook

Strong written and oral communications skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team; which promotes respect, dependability and reliability

Travel to and working in remote communities or camp settings may be required

Additional Information

Conditions of Employment:
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence

Job Requirements

Valid First Aid/CPR Certificates or able to acquire within two months of employment,

Transportation Dangerous Goods (TDG) Air & Ground Certificate – Must be obtained within first month of employment.
