The Young Offenders’ Facility is committed to providing care and supervision to young persons in both secure and open custody settings. Carrying out these duties requires a thorough recognition of the importance of Yukon First Nations’ cultures and traditions. As a Youth Service Worker, you will focus on providing direct care, support and supervision to at-risk youth who experience behavioral and/or emotional dysregulation. In addition, you will provide young offenders with a safe and secure environment in which to grow and learn, while supervising youth behavior and activities. This includes acting as a representative of the Young Offenders’ Facility through attendance at meetings and groups facilitated by the Youth High Risk Treatment program.
We are looking for individuals who are energetic, flexible, organized, and who are self-starters that possess excellent communication skills. Further, we are looking for individuals who are able to engage youth in collaborative crisis management through remaining calm, patient and regulated.
