The Artificial Intelligence Scientist on the product development team develops our AI suite of products. T his team is responsible for building production ready AI products that are optimized for speed, relia bility, and scale using PySpark and Python . This role is a combination of machine learning softwa re development and machine learning engineering . Responsibilities: • Provide thought leadership with novel approaches to solving new and existing businessproblems. • Support the development of new ML techniques and algorithms through data analysis and proof-of-concepts. • Develop production level machine learning softwareusing PySpark and Python • Convert proof-of-concepts and feature requestsinto production ready code. • Optimize and transform existing software for speed, reliability, and scale. • Integrate state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms as well as the development of new methods • Collaborate cross-functionallywith data scientists, data engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify gaps and issues in the AI product suite and propose solutions • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycleincluding design, coding, unit testing, and documentation for both new and existing pieces of software. • Mentors, guides, and indirectly leads less experienced ArtificialIntelligence Scientist peers • Drives innovation by fostering open, high energy, collaborative environment; lead participation in innovation summit and expos, recommend relevant training and conferences for employees to attend, publish paper and patent disclosures Note: The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees andare not to be construed as an exhaustive list ofresponsibilities, duties, abilities, and skills required of personnel so classified. Qualifications: • Minimum Education: o Master’s or Ph. D in mathematics, statis tics, computer science, computer engineering , operations research, or related field • Minimum Work Experience (years): o 8 + years experience in data science, machine learning, or software engineering required . • Key Skills and Competencies: o Knowledge of stati stical programming techniques and languages (e.g., Python, PySpark) o Working knowledge of common machine learning and deep learning approaches (e.g. regression, clustering, classification, dimensinality reduction, supri visd and unsupervised techniques, Baysian reasoning, boosting, random forests, deep learning) and data analysis packages (e.g. scikit-learn, Spark MLlib) o Prior experience with machine learning packages(e.g. scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch)and/or optimization pachages (e.g. Pyomo)oFamiliarity with time series forecastingoRetail and CPG industry experience desired o Experience using cloud computing(e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform) o Familiarity with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g. Apache Spark)and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., MLFlow, Argo) o Solid understanding of data structures, object-orientedsoftware design,and architecture o Ability to work independently and take initiative, but also a co-operatvie team player Come join the herd!
