About the role:

Zego is currently seeking an Associate Software Engineer to support and develop new features for our Payment Management Platform. The ideal candidate will be a driven, team player working in a small focused development team. The Engineer will participate in the planning, designing and developing of new feature functionality, as well as troubleshooting and updating existing applications. The engineering team at Zego uses the Lean/Agile development methodology. A high degree of teamwork and proactiveness are essential for this position.

What you’ll do here:

• Work with senior team members to understand and refine business requirements
• Participate design of technical software solutions based on business requirements, architectural design guidelines, and inputs from subject matter experts (SMEs)
• Implement and maintain modularized software components in accordance with the design of technical solutions
• Create effective unit tests for software modules that plug into the CI/CD pipelines.
• Attend ceremonies of the Agile development processes as implemented at Zego
• Participate in structured self-learning events and share with team members

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1-2 years’ experience as a Software Engineer or Intern
• Solid understanding on object-oriented programming principles
• Hands-on experience with analyzing, writing and optimizing SQL statements
• Knowledge of MVC design pattern
• Knowledge with Git tools and platforms
• Understanding of web services (SOAP and REST)
• Knowledge of web technologies; HTML5, CSS, JavaScript
• Ability to communicate effectively with other business stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or a related field preferred, but not required
• Experience working with at least one of the leading OOP programming languages. Including, but not limited to PHP, Java
• Experience working with JavaScript platforms and frameworks, specifically Node.js and React.js
• Experience integrating third party APIs

The US base salary for this full-time position is 80,000 salary. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
