Ziegler CAT has an opening for a full-time, experienced Mechanic to work on agricultural equipment. Ziegler Ag Equipment sells and services Challenger tractors, combines, and hay equipment; LEXION combines; AGCO RoGators, TerraGators, and SpraCoupes; Sunflower tillage equipment; and White Planters. We are looking for a dedicated employee with excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to help deliver top notch service as a mechanic to our rapidly growing customer base.Responsibilities:Diagnose and repair agricultural equipment including tractors, combines, balers, sprayers, tillage equipment, and plantersRespond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performedMaintains a clean and safe work area, adhere to all safety proceduresFollows standard operating proceduresCleans and organizes equipmentAttends formal trainingAssists to prepare new equipment for rent or saleProvides assistance to all other levels of technicians as needed in regard to troubleshooting repairsPerforms other duties as assigned/requiredMaintains paperwork documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily/job basisDocuments labor, addition of segments, assuring that work order can be closed and billed as communicated with the customerPositively interacts with manager and team members to satisfy customer needsCommunicates effectively with customers, both internal and externalQualifications:2-year technical degree or high school diploma/GED and several years of comparable shop mechanicexperience2+ years of relevantdiesel equipment repair experience preferredPrevious experience with Challenger tractors, LEXION combines, AGCO RoGators, TerraGators, and SpraCoupes; Sunflower tillage equipment; or White Planters a plus but not requiredPersonal attributes: attention to detail, efficiency, problem solving, planning and organization, team playerWritten and verbal communication skillsBasic computer skillsOwn mechanic tool setAbility to maintain safe and clean work environment*IndTMinimum physical requirements: Push/pull up to 80 lbsLift/carry up to 80 lbsLift bulky objectsStanding, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor.
