How would you like to be paid for 100% of your contractual hours, but only work 80%?*


Role: Team Manager


Location: Thatcham, Berkshire


Salary: Up to £36,500.00 per annum


Hours: 42 hours per week


Contract: Full Time; Permanent

About the Home:

Acorn Education and Care are recruiting Children’s Team Managers to join our teams within the Oxford and Tadley regions. Our registered independent children’s homes offer residential care for children & young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

Each of our homes are within commutable distance from Reading, Newbury, Bracknell and other surrounding towns and villages.


Who are we are looking for?

We are looking for a caring, responsible, experienced Team Manager to join our fantastic residential children’s home in the Hampshire region. As Team Manager you will lead a team of Support Workers who care for our children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and healthy.

Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a setting where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where children and young people are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

Our Team Managers carry out an essential and varied role, supporting the Registered Managers in leading a team to provide the individual, bespoke, support required by the children and young people in our care. You will design, implement and monitor the care and education plans to meet the individual needs of our children and young people, ensuring that key life and independent skills are achieved in the enriching and positive environment we strive to create.

What we need from you:

  • Full and valid UK Driving Licence
  • Access to a car
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Currently hold Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • Passionate about caring for children and young people, and to support them to reach their full potential
  • You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, more time for you! Dependent upon site location.
