Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited university
Current and valid Texas PT License
Valid TX Driver’s license and safe driving record

AIM has an opening for a Physical Therapist in Texas to provide services in a K-12 school program. Previous school-based experience is a plus; and candidates must hold a valid PT – Physical Therapy license. We are committed to helping children and families, school leaders, and clinicians achieve success.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Ability to evaluate and treat students, helping them negotiate the school environment, improve school performance and engage with their peers
Serves as a member of the IEP team for students with physical therapy concerns
Facilitate goals and objectives per child’s educational plan
Personal commitment to driving positive outcomes for students
Collaborative minded professional with strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work and build strong relationships with parents, teachers, and school administrators
Experience working in schools or with children is a plus, but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide appropriate, individualized instruction to each student on the caseload
Develop schedules that meet the goals of each student
Provide consultation and assistance to staff as to skills to implement in the classroom
Establish open, frequent communication with parents, and all related service staff
Make recommendations for time need to implement goals
Participate in appropriate staff meetings as requested
Establish and maintain a positive atmosphere in working with staff in order that this atmosphere will be carried over for the student
Conduct Assessment
Direct instructional services
504 or ARD attendance
Consultation with school staff or other AIM staff members.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Maintain emotional control under stress.
Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job.
Regular District-wide travel to multiple work locations as assigned; frequent standing, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, heavy lifting, and moderate carrying.
May be required to lift and transfer students to and from wheelchairs or assist with positioning students with physical disabilities.
Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
