The Student Welfare Directorate at Aston University provides student support to those with disabilities, mental health conditions or concerns and those in need of general support within our Counselling, Mental Health & Wellbeing, Disability & Academic Support and Chaplaincy teams. We also provide advice and guidance to our colleagues across the University to supplement the support they can provide. We are currently expanding to provide greater levels of support to Aston Students.
As such, we are seeking to appoint three Student Welfare Administrators to work as part of our integrated administration team. We aim to provide an efficient, customer-focused, and professional front line service within Student Welfare (Mental Health & Wellbeing, Counselling, Disability & Academic Support and support with our other growing services). The Student Welfare Administrators will be the initial point of contact for students, staff and other enquirers and will be responsible for a range of admin support – reporting initially to the Student Welfare Administration & Projects Manager.
The successful post-holders will be committed to providing outstanding customer service and working flexibly within an integrated administration service, facilitating the work of a multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for someone who is flexible, proactive, and organised, with excellent attention to detail and experience of working in a busy customer-facing environment.
You will also manage or support key administrative activities within Student Welfare more broadly, assisting in the continual development, improvement and implementation of associated procedures and systems.
Due to the nature of the role, we require a Minimum A Level standard or equivalent relevant experience, a good command of English and numeracy skills (GCSE Mathematics and English 5/C grade or equivalent are minimum requirements).
Anonymous shortlisting will be carried out for this role as part of Aston University’s commitment to equality and diversity and ensuring a fair and consistent approach to recruitment. Personal details that are included on application forms, including the candidate’s name and address will not be disclosed to the shortlisting panel. We kindly ask that candidates do not send CVs or cover letters as these will not be considered – and no applications made through other channels, except officially through this website, will be accepted.
The successful candidate is required to have DBS clearance to work with children.
