About the opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior BackEnd Engineer, focused on Node.js, to develop, improve, and expand the services that power all of our products. Our client is a technology company and you will be focused on adding to and improving our feature set for QR codes, DW Pages, and User Management and contribute to the ongoing efforts around codebase modernization, helping with the high visibility and impact across the organization. Required Qualifications: Nice to Have:

• This opportunity requests a hybrid model: 3x at the office, in Mountain View – California. Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the engineering and product teams aligned within Engagement, report to and collaborate with the Director of Engineering and engagement.
• Work on backend APIs as well as structured data and ETL mappings.
• Provide mentorship and support to Junior and Mid-level Engineers on your team to help them grow in technical competence, ensure code quality for owned services, and remove blockers for the team;
• Create, manage, and improve back-end services that accurately and efficiently provide clients with the data they need with a variety of tools and languages including, Go, NSQ, MySQL, Memcached, and more;
• Draw from previous engineering at-scale experience to influence and steer improvements within our distributed engineering organization;
• Continuously collaborate with a diverse organization of value-driven individuals to understand the goals, needs, and priorities of our users; Turn your understanding of our systems into thoughtful, well-tested and scalable solutions easily managed by your fellow engineers
• Extensive engineering experience with the ability to design robust and scalable services;
• Expertise in one back-end language with experience in others;
• Experience mentoring other engineers and a desire to continue doing so;
• Solid background in writing understandable, testable, and efficient code in a language such as Golang, Python, Java, C# or Node.js;
• Familiar with relevant tools and technologies and have the drive to stay up-to-date with ongoing changes and advancements;
• Clearly communication of technical concepts and ideas to other engineers and other parts of the organization;
• Care about the quality of the code you write and strive to leave things better than you found them;
• Take the initiative in addressing issues or seeking support from fellow team members;
• Experience with and are a proponent of automated testing;
• Experience using a flavor of version control — we use git and Github to collaborate and manage pull requests.

A reasonable estimate of the current range for US Based BackEnd Engineer is $135.000 USD to $165.000 USD per year.
