In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:

• Undertake all assigned software engineering activities in accordance with the identified project directives and standards.
• Accountability for the delivery of allocated Software Engineering work packages and artefacts.
• Develop software engineering related documentation in accordance with appropriate standards.
• Provide regular status information to the relevant Team Lead and/or Project Engineering Manager as required.
• Work effectively as part of a Software Engineering team and provide guidance and mentoring to other team members as required.
• Provide technical advice and leadership in areas of expertise as required.
• Assist in the development of project infrastructure such as tools deployment, metrics collection and process development.
• Identify opportunities for the improvement of Software Engineering practices.
• Responsible for complying with the requirements of the BAE Systems Quality Systems as they relate to your areas of activity.
• Perform installations and upgrades of DFMS software products within the DFMS network as required.
• Carry out technical investigations for software issues within the DFMS network as required.

About you

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you’ll have:

• A strong understanding of the Software Development lifecycle
• Hold, or be willing to hold, an Australian defence security clearance at a minimum level of SECRET (NV1) and willing to upgrade to TOP SECRET NEGATIVE VETTING (NV2)
• Experience in developing software using the following technologies:
• C++, C#, Java
• SQL Server
• Atlassian development suite
• Software development in the Windows environment

Clearances

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
