Barnardo’s Hiring for People Advisor at Wales Full Time

We are seeking 2 People / HR Advisors to join our team, who would provide support to a range of Barnardo’s Children’s Services within Central and Cymru & South West Regions.

The team consists of 4 Advisors, 2 People Managers, 4 People Administrators led by the Head of People.

In this role you will work closely with the People Manager to provide HR support to the Children’s Services teams who are based across the Region. This is truly varied generalist role and you will be responsible for providing proactive, professional and business focused HR support to our operational leaders and managers. On a day to day basis, the primary tasks include:

• Employee relations casework advice and guidance
• Supporting disciplinary and grievance processes
• Sickness absence management guidance
• Employee health and wellbeing, including reasonable adjustments guidance
• Change Management, including TUPE
• Delivery of HR related training
• Undertake people projects that are aligned to Barnardo’s strategic priorities

Job Location

You will be homebased within either the Central England Region or Cymru & South West Region. At the present time, the role is 100% remote, however as restrictions lift, you will be expected to undertake a reasonable amount of travel across the UK to regional hubs or service locations across the Region as appropriate in the course of your role and to attend relevant business meetings as required across the UK.

This role is a permanent post. It should be noted however that support functions including HR are currently part of an organisational review.

What we are seeking

Ideal candidates are required to bring the role:

• Previous experience in a similar and/or a proven track record of operational HR or people management, including experience of dealing with complex issues, E.g. disciplinaries, grievances, employment tribunals and TUPE.
• CIPD qualified – level 5 (desirable)
• Sound knowledge and understanding of UK Employment Law and HR practices
• Strong organisational skills
• Problem solving
• Solution focused
• Ability to foster strong and collaborative working relationships at all levels
