Summary
Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of claims.
- Part time position will work at home following training and proven ability to meet performance standards. Training will be held at Percival Rd., Columbia SC location.
Description
This is a part- time position (27 hours per week) with extensive training on-site in Columbia, SC.
Selected candidate will have to come in at 4101 Percival Rd. Columbia SC. For about a week or two until they get their equipment, then train from home.
- There will be on-site classroom training in Columbia SC. Hours will be 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Monday through Friday.
- There will on-site on-the-job training in Columbia SC. Hours will be 8:00 am to 2:30 pm. Monday through Friday.
- Following completion of training and meeting of established performance standards position will work from home.
- Hours will be somewhat flexible with 3 hours per day worked during core hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and the remaining hours can be worked anytime between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm.
What You’ll Do
- Researches and processes claims according to business regulation, internal standards and processing guidelines. Verifies the coding of procedure and diagnosis codes.
- Resolves system edits, audits and claims errors through research and use of approved references and investigative sources.
- Coordinates with internal departments to work edits and deferrals, updating the patient identification, other health insurance, provider identification and other files as necessary.

- Uses sound reasoning when processing claims
