At BMC, the dedicated Millwork Welder is responsible for welding millwork products as needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, repairs and maintenance of products, selection of equipment and layout planning, and commitment to continuous improvement and high efficiency of the company.
Major Responsibilities:
Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
Layout, position, align, and fit components together.
Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
Perform clean-up and other assignments as required by supervisor.
Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement.
Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers.
Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization.
Open and responsive to change.
Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Adhere to the Company’s safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and in small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to respond to complaints, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
May require Technical/Vocational Trade Certification.
Prior welding experience preferred.
Required Experience
Minimum Experience:
At least 1 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have knowledge of the industry.
