Broadridge is seeking a hardworking, motivated, and creative Cloud Database Engineer to join our team on contract basis in a remote capacity. As a leading provider of Financial Service Technology Offerings, we are looking for your expertise in developing and automating the workflows, AWS IaC deployments and migration efforts.

Database Engineers are subject matter experts (SMEs) for the database technologies they support. They possess a comprehensive knowledge of various database design techniques (e.g. federation, distributed, clustered, partitioned, etc.). They provide database solutions to basic and moderate level projects. They collaborate with architecture and application teams to deliver and implement database management system database / schema and physical designs with some complexity. Database Engineers set standards for the database technologies supported by the group. They certify the version and release levels that are appropriate for Broadridge use and comply with its policies governing support and security. They also participate in analyzing new database features, functionality, or products and make recommendations that support overall business objectives. They engineer database solutions and automate manual tasks. They design and build automated solutions to support Dev/Ops and continuous service improvement efforts.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and implement database access and security strategy

• Design and implement database monitoring strategy

• Design, implement, and validate our HA and DR strategy

• Review current database configuration/parameters and provide recommendations to ensure performance, resiliency, and security

• Review, enhance, and implement pipelines and strategy for database administration and maintenance activities

• As a level 3 support function, assist with project/service delivery/application teams to resolve complex technical issues or business situations that involve critical database processes and hinder the achievement of service level requirements.

• They are proficient in AWS/Cloud technologies

• Provide mentorship to DBA’s Recommends best practices for coding and schema design.

• Recommends database HA and DR strategies.

• Evaluates the effectiveness of IT policies through professional group discussions.

• Creates trouble reports for all issues found and reviews solutions for completeness and correctness.

  Qualifications:

• Must have hands-on experience crafting and supporting AWS and/or Azure IaC deployments with Terraform

• Must have hands-on experience for AWS databases (Aurora, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, and Redis)

• Must be proficient with developing and supporting automation pipelines with Jenkins

• Familiarity with Git, Jenkins and DevOps pipelines

• Proficiency in UNIX shell scripting

• Proficient in architecting and managing AWS cloud environments
