Management Accountant – Specified Purpose

We are pleased to invite applications for the position of Business Analyst on a specified purpose contract for a duration of 2 years.

Reporting to the MIS Manager, the position represents a key role within the wider Finance Team. The successful candidate will interact with all departments in BWG and take part in many cross-functional tasks and projects.

Key Accountabilities:

• Take a pro-active role in supporting commercial and operational decision making, by providing strong commercial analysis and metrics for the business
• Develop and monitor data quality metrics and ensure business data and reporting needs are met
• Maximise the profitability of the business by ensuring it is always operating in an efficient and cost-effective way
• Assist with the Budgeting and Forecasting function within the Finance Team by optimising the tools and models in use within the organisation

Responsibilities of this role include the following:

• Provide support in the preparation of Annual Budget, to include Revenue, Commercial Margin and Overheads through to PBT
• Preparation of Rolling Forecasts to PBT level
• Review Management accounts and provide commentary, insights, and analysis
• Develop and maintain Internal controls, policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure integrity and accuracy of the financial systems and information
• Work with the Commercial team to evaluate and review promotional activities with a goal to optimising profitability and cash generation
• Optimise functionality available within the ERP and BI systems to drive efficiencies and advanced reporting
• Provide Opex analysis that can help in identifying cost saving initiativesReview monthly balance sheet control accounts and identify and implement any corrective actions where necessary

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

• Accountancy qualification with 3+ years PQE, ideally within a fast-paced and innovative environment
• Knowledge and experience of FMCG, Distribution, Retail or Hospitality
• Understand business processes, risk management, IT controls, project delivery methodologies
• Strong commercial acumen and highly developed decision making & problem-solving skills
• Excellent communications skills
• Excellent IT skills with strong modelling capability
