Job Summary
This position provides clerical support to the faculty and staff of the department of Physics and Astronomy.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Must be able to communicate with faculty and students in a clear and professional manner. Employee has extensive contact with people by both telephone and walk-in traffic. Must be able to draft a correspondence, edit English grammar, spelling and punctuation, and proofread. Employee is responsible for complex and diverse clerical functions. Requires good organization skills, the ability to set priorities and the ability to work independently. Employee is situated in a heavily trafficked area. Basic understanding of computers. Employee assists in entering/editing information on campus-wide CMS information software and works with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher files. Must be able to work with and keep up to date the shared drive.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university’s commitment to a “vision of excellence.”

Compensation
The targeted salary may be set as high as $3,332 per month based on experience. The salary range for this classification is $3,120 to $4,592 per month.

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for two years with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
