JOB INFO
As a Labourer, you are expected to be engaged in our safety program, execute work in a safe manner, and follow CANA policies and all applicable regulations.
This is a Night Shift position (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
The position entails physically demanding motions and tasks
The work requires commuting to different sites in and around the Calgary area
Company and/or personal vehicle
With projects across Western Canada, travel and shift work may be required
CANA Energy operates year-round and outdoors in all types of terrain and environments
YOU WILL
Moving and turning traffic structures for oversized loads
Flagging and directing traffic and pilot trucks
Set up intersections for loads to move through
Assist with excavating, sanding, backfilling excavations and compacting/leveling
Help with installation, setting and framing of poles and streetlights
Place conduit and different types of cables
String conductors and run handlines
Install:
shallow utilities for residential and commercial sites
underground cables and conduit
pre-cast concrete structures and underground fiberglass vaults
Organize, clean, and maintain job site, equipment, and tools
YOU WILL NEED
Valid Class 5 operators license with a clean abstract and reliable transportation to commute to various job sites
A successful Pre-Employment Assessment that includes screening for Drug & Alcohol and the ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
NICE TO HAVE
Experience in shallow utilities or construction industry
Equipment operating experience such as Backhoe and/or Excavator
Experience working near active Heavy Machinery
Previous flagger experience
Class 1 or Class 3 operator’s license
