Overview
Canon U.S.A.’s Corporate Office is currently seeking a Government Bids Specialist to join our Government Operations Team. The person in this role is responsible for responding to request for bids/proposals and administering federal government contracts and Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA’s). A background in the federal government bids process and contracts administration is highly recommended for this position.
This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
This hybrid role is available in either Melville, New York or Arlington, Virginia.
Responsibilities
– Responsible for all bid activities including but not limited to review, distill, and identify bid requirements and concerns; develop bid strategies, formulate comprehensive and quality proposals/quotes; and track bid activities and maintain bid log. Act as the focal point of contact for proposal development and seeking clarifications from customers.
– Act as the contract liaison between Canon and Government, including participation in pre-award/post award discussions, contract negotiations/modifications and cure notices, if applicable. Contract maintenance includes product refreshes, renewals and up-to-date marketing information.
– Administer and coordinate activities involving the acceptance, monitoring and performance of Federal government contracts.
Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, required.
– Minimum three years’ of work experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Federal audits and compliance, required.
– Experience with managing a GSA Federal Schedule (preferred).
– Must demonstrate strong proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Excel, Word, & Outlook programs.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Functions effectively as part of a team.
– Incumbent must demonstrate superior time management, organizational and interpersonal skills,
– Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
– Possesses strong decision making/problem solving skills.
