Data Entry Specialist (Excel)

We are hiring a skilled and experienced Data Entry Specialist (Excel) who is looking for a career, not just a job. Please do not apply if you do not have heavy Excel experience.

You need to like to be busy, because you will be! You may work on exporting, troubleshooting, and importing from QuickBooks and other accounting system files, managing large amounts of data in Excel and preparing them for import or update into new or existing QuickBooks files according to SOP. Average size is around 2K rows, but can be up to 100K rows of data. Must be able to use critical thinking skills to determine troubleshooting steps during error logs received in order to stick to project scope.

High degree of integrity and ability to track time accurately using a timer is highly important. We are expected to meet an average of 70% billable on any given week.

Typical duties vary, but are most commonly the following:

• Obtaining assignments from project management software daily, and adhering to project scope and in efficient timelines.
• Formatting excel sheets for import into software packages (mainly QB, but others as well).
• Troubleshooting issues with imports using your pre-existing mastery of Excel.
• Ensure clients feel valued and have realistic expectations per company procedure and policies.
• Communicate precisely and professionally via Teams and online collaboration tools.

• Validate colleague projects using attention to detail and reporting analysis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with 5+ years’ Excel in a related role. Able to slice, dice, and wrangle data with ease.
• Steady work experience.
• Experience in a consulting firm, tech environment, or in public accounting highly preferred.
• Experience with QuickBooks Desktop software.
• Continuous learning attitude.
• Working understanding of GAAP preferred.

• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience following project budgets and plans as part of an implementation team preferred.
• Certification in Excel, or evidence of college-level Excel coursework a bonus.

• Advanced Excel user (Concatenate, VLookups, Proper, etc).

• Positive, professional, and solution-oriented demeanor.
• Laser focus on achievements, not busy work.
